1st holiday for 2009

Firstly - Happy New Year everyone! I feel so blessed to live such a wonderful life in such a beautiful place. I yearn to go and help out in other poorer parts of the world and who knows what this next year will hold - but for now I just enjoy all God has given me in the now - and that's plenty.

We had a wonderful 3 nights with Ruth, Chris, Mei (who have bought a property in Waratah Bay) and Vicki, Tim and Camille in Waratah Bay. We saw the New Year in with them (must say something about the company because I don't usually see New Year in!). We stayed 3 nights and we all got on so well and to watch these precious little girls playing together was enough to melt my heart. They really get on very, very well and to be in a small area for 3 nights and days was quite a feat for all of them I think. There weren't too many disagreements between the girls either which was wonderful. We did a lot and didn't do a lot - it was a great mix and wonderful company all round. We had intended to go to the beach with the girls each day, but sadly the weather didn't allow that - although you'll see we tried one day and Mei and Millie loved it - but I think Eb's ears get affected by the wind - not sure. We did do outings each day and we did eat and drink way, way too much - but it was a very special way to see the new year in. I said to someone recently - who would have thought that we'd end up spending our New Year with people who we met through our adoption journey - people we wouldn't have met under other circumstances and yet here we are enjoying a wonderful time together. This adoption journey has so many wonderful facets and we are so blessed by ALL the members of our Batch that we traveled with.
