Finally...the Melbourne Zoo as a family....

and - believe it or not - we did the Zoo in 40 degree heat!
We got there reasonably early and headed straight to the Monkeys/Apes. Eb was quite taken with them!

and yes - there is glass between them!

Eb simply wouldn't get on this 'pretend' croc for anything!

One of the monkey's Eb was quite taken with....

It doesn't look hot - but gosh it was!

Posing on an 'elephant'

Tiger time...

Then the Elephants....

and the butterfly's....

more elephants...

and monkeys

hmmmm...just cute!

at the new Seal enclosure - it was absolutely fantastic...and much cooler!

Ebby and her daddy enjoying a moment and some fun....

Incredibly this is what we saw in the sky while we were there...created a lot of comments...

If you look at Eb's top lip you'll see how hot she was by now!

then there was the bears

and then - lastly the giraffe's

After we had stopped to have lunch, I had a read of the insert in the Zoo program (that Eb had been carefully holding and guarding the whole way around) only to find that today was "Melbourne Missions" day at the Zoo. There were free snack packs for the children (!) free rides/face painting etc. Sadly we were too late to collect the snack pack and it was just too hot for face painting but we did enjoy one of the free rides! (Just before they closed it down due to the heat :) You can see here too how hot Eb is. We were kinda getting to our end with the heat.
