Malaysia

We left Mt Beauty on Saturday for 2 nights in Melbourne before we made our way to Malaysia.

We stayed with our friends SSMM and had a lovely time with them (apart from the tiredness of preparing to go away). We also went to visit our friends Mish, Pat, Stu and Steph as an early 50th celebration for me. We had a lovely lunch with them and some very special time catching up after Mish and Steph's big trip overseas and now, before ours!

We headed out to the airport nice and early on Monday morning and made it with plenty of time to relax and enjoy a little duty free shopping (not much though!). The flight left just a little late but at least we waited IN the airport and not ON the plane! The flight is meant to be 9.25hours, but thankfully it actually arrived at the scheduled time - so we made up a bit of time.

Eb travelled really well - better than me. I've been suffering from headaches and planes don't help. All it all the flight went pretty smoothly though and Eb slept for 2 hours which was a lovely bonus. There were plenty of spare seats which helped!

We arrived in Malaysia at about 6.30pm Malaysian time (9.30 Aussie time) but it was about 9.30pm Malaysian time before we got into our Hotel at Kuala Lumpur. It's a long bus trip from the airport and then the taxi we took from KL central to the Novotel KL broke down! It had been raining and..well...you probably get the picture! Anyway we manged to sleep until after 5am here which wasn't too bad. Had a yummy breakfast, went for a walk (and got soaked from the humidity) and now we're sitting in our Hotel room waiting for check out at noon before we head back to the airport and to Cambodia.
